Eichler Above the Fairway
Vista Pacific is one of those quiet pockets of San Clemente most people drive past without knowing it's there — 54 single-level homes from 1963, all mid-century Eichler bones, tucked into the hills off Del Gado. This one had been remodeled with a light touch: white brick left white, tongue-and-groove ceilings left exposed, the kind of restraint that lets the original architecture keep doing the work. What made the shoot was the deck off the back — a firepit ringed with Adirondack chairs, and a view that does double duty, golf course rolling out to one side and a slice of the ocean visible past the rooftops to the other. Of the homes in this community, this is the lot worth having. Golden hour up there hits the white brick and the honey-toned wood ceiling beams at the same angle, and for about twenty minutes it's hard to find a bad frame in the whole house.
